Ice Cream Updates and More

Big news. I am now pursuing two degrees at Simmons this Fall. In addition to an MA in Gender and Cultural Studies, I will also be pursuing an MAT in Secondary Education. After finding out I passed the Communication and Literacy MTEL, I decided to apply to the dual-degree program. I am excited to see what happens next!

Most of my time has been spent running errands, going to the gym, hitting up dance classes and dog sitting. I have been working at the Comcast Center and the Comedy Connection time and again, but unfortunately have no real summer job.

Now ICE CREAM NEWS/

Lindsay and I need to work out some posts about Oxford Creamery, but in the meantime Lee and I have hit up a few places.

Today we went to a spot I haven't visited in a few years, Erickson's.

Erickson's is on Rt 58 in Carver, right over the line from Wareham. They have a dizzying amount of flavors, traditional ones and wacky ones (Crunchasaurus was one intriguing one). They did have a favorite of mine Coffee Kahlua Brownie which was sensational. However, the brownie to ice cream ratio could be better. I require a lot of brownie chunks. Lee had a typical frappe, chocolate with malt and coffee syrup. Apparently they don't have a traditional frappe machine, so they mixed it in a blender. Lee was disappointed in the ice cream flopped in the bottom. Also, Ericksons is a tad expensive, our bill for a frappe and an ice cream was a whopping $9.10!
Save up before visiting! They also had a pond like puddle in their parking lot. Lame.

Last week, Lee and I also visited a perennial favorite of mine in Wareham. Kool Kone! It was insanely busy for a Monday night, but the weather was gorgeous so I suppose its excusable. My favorite part about Kool Kone is that they have frappes in SIZES. You can get a small frappe which is way more calorie conscious than the typical massive. Not like you care when indulging in a frappe, but its also nicer on the wallet. Lee was tempted by the Jumbo, but he settled by a medium of his usual. They even put in extra malt, and Lee loved it. I got a small dish of coffee with marshmallow sauce. AMAZING. Their marshmallow goo is legit heated up Fluff. It is not runny or drippy like the Friendly's gunk. It is the best, and they give you plenty.
